The Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is a graduate, professional doctorate degree that is conferred upon those who complete the school's J.D. program.
Requirements:
The Juris Doctor Degree will be granted to individuals who have successfully completed all required terms of the law study program. It is the student's responsibility to be sure that Bar eligibility requirements are followed.
To be eligible for conferral of the school's Juris Doctor (JD) degree, a student must:
- Earn at least eighty units of semester credit; with each unit requiring a minimum of 15 hours of verified academic engagement, plus a further 30 hours of preparation and study;
- Complete and receive a passing grade in all core courses;
- Complete at least six units of practice-based skills and competency training;
- Complete all law studies within a time period of no fewer than 44 months, nor more than 84 months from the date the student commenced law study, whether at Northwestern California University or at another law school for which transfer credit was awarded;
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0;
- Complete at least the last academic term and at least 20 units at Northwestern California University; and
- Pay all tuition and fees owed to the school.
